Kenya, once the home of Kenya’s Prime Minister, has the largest population of non-government armed forces in the world. It took just 22 years for a military coup to happen, as it did in 2007 in an event that was witnessed over 100,000 times on the African side. In the wake of the coup, however, there were more than 350,000 people in parliament held in opposition to the coup. That number is now known to have risen to 1.46 million.

It’s no secret for many in society that Kenya lacks a political system with a wide range of opposition parties. There have been numerous protests against the current government, led by the former former president.

At the time, Kenya was one of the countries, despite being one of Africa’s poorest nations, that refused to follow European Union (EU) free movement rules, stating that “we will not accept foreign aid as a guarantee based on its sovereignty, without the commitment of its government.”

The most recent international refugee crisis and violence, also known as “Drake’s Awakening,” have made a huge difference over the past few years, with the number of African refugees rising at a record pace.
